Dear parents and community,

You'll be pleased to know I am a Cantabrian at heart, having grown up on a farm in Sheffield. I attended St Bedes College as a boarder for 5 years and then spent a year in Ireland teaching Physical Education, coaching and playing rugby and working as a house Tutor. On retuning to New Zealand I studied Marketing for a year and then realised that teaching was what I wanted as a career. Perhaps it was all those lies of a 9 to 3 job!

I feel very fortunate to now be a part of the Prebbleton Staff and I look forward to helping make our school the best it can be.

I have been a teacher for the last 10 years and have been teaching in the senior area (Year 7/8) of Primary Education. I come to Prebbleton School from a small rural neighbor - Weedons School. I have also taught in the private sector where I specialised in the teaching of Mathematics, Literacy and Physical Education. I enjoy teaching Inquiry and love to integrate ICT into the classroom wherever possible. The new curriculum is enabling schools and teachers to deliver very exciting programmes.

My wife Anna is also a teacher and is currently teaching in the Junior School at Clearview Primary in Rolleston. We have 2 children, Max 3 1/2 and Belle 15 months.IMG_0106.jpgLearning is a 3 way partnership between the child, parent and teacher, therefore we must work together to get the best for your child. No matter how busy I may seem please come and talk to me if you have any concerns with your child's learning.

I look forward to meeting you around the school.

Kind regards
Mike Molloy
